Knitting it together is located in Palos Park, Illinois. President Christy Loughry directs and manages the activities of Knitting it together. The organization began when Christy took note that no such organization existed to support the adult cancer population at her local hospital. Looking around, and seeing the booming generosity aimed at the pediatric population, she made it her mission to ensure that adult patients are not forgotten about. Blankets and hats are collected locally and distributed to adult oncology patients at Christ hospital, South Suburban hospital, and Trinity hospital. Our hope is that this organization will grow to support all of the Chicagoland hospitals and beyond!
-While we are working hard at becoming a registered nonprofit organization, we are not quite there yet. With that being said, any donations that are made at this time should be out of the kindness of your heart.
-To come together as a community to support adult cancer patients through the gift of comfort. We make and donate hand knit, crochet, fleece and quilt blankets and hats.
-To provide an outlet for individuals in the community to use their craft as a way to give support to adult cancer patients.
